Enjoying being a member and A/B groups

Hello everyone. I am a new member this year and have really enjoyed viewing fellow members creativity which I feel is to a really good standard. I have also enjoyed the varied programme which has been full of interest, so well done to the organisers! I have also really benefited from entering competitions and receiving feedback from members and judges for the first time, i'm certainly looking at my images differently as a result. When it comes to competitions I am a little puzzled in one small area and that is the difference between Group A & B in open competitions - To my eye the standard is very similar, so I was wondering why there are two groups. Many thanks Peter

Hi Peter - you have raised a very good point and Chris P has partly addressed it below. However your perception that there is little difference is a good one as whilst there are two groups it is entirely up to the membership to decide which group they wish to belong to.

It would be good to have a wider discussion about this and how 'it works' at the forthcoming AGM.

If you agree and would like to draft a motion to allow such discussion then I would be prepared to support you.

Ta,

Peter.
